The Old Castle Lodge, No 4646
From its earliest days, Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged.
This work continues today. In addition, large sums are given to national and local charities.
Old Castle lodge is Patron of
Royal Masonic Institute for Boys
Royal Masonic Institute for Girls
Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution
Royal Masonic Hospital
Local Charities
Like many Macclesfield Masons, we support our local Hospice, East Cheshire Hospice, and also a scheme adopted by Freemasons in other parts as well to raise funds for TLC (Teddies for Loving Care)
teddy bears
to be placed in the Accident Department of Macclesfield General Hospital for young children in trauma or distress because of an illness or injury.
We are also contributors to donations to the North west Air Ambulance and recently
in 2009 representatives from Cheshire East Lancs and West Lancs
Masons went up to Blackpool where the Air Ambulance is based and cheques were presented. In 2010 the Old Castle 4646 Garden Party raised £475.00 for East Cheshire Hospice and an Xmas dinner £300 for Help the Heroes.
We also support our Lodge Widows wherever we can and also Lodge members who have fallen on hard times.
